The Hebrew Alphabet Letter Tav
The twenty-second and final letter in many of the Semitic alphabets, including Hebrew, is Tav. This letter is thought to have been derived from a simple mark; it could have been from a cross or an asterisk-like marking.

In Modern Hebrew, Tav is a letter that is able to accept a Dagesh Kal. Three of these six letters, Kaph, Bet, and Pe, in the Modern Hebrew language have their sound values changed just by the addition of a dagesh. The other three letters maintain the same pronunciation in the Modern Hebrew language.
Significance of Tav
The letter Tav, in gematria, is a representation of the number 400. Without using one of the Sophit forms, this is the biggest number that is able to be made.
In Judaism
The last letter of the word emet, a Hebrew word, is Tav which means truth. Truth seems to be all-encompassing, but falsehood is deceiving and narrow.
